DIY Textured Pumpkins

This is a DIY I made in an afternoon last fall, but never wrote up a tutorial for! I found this stacked trio of pumpkins at Walmart last year for about $14. With this simple painting trick I transformed them into gorgeous textured cement looking pumpkins you can find in high end stores - but without the high end price tag!

What you need

• Any pumpkins - thrifted, upcycled, or new! This technique also works on any material!

• Flat Paint in desired color - I used leftover house paint, but acrylic craft paint will work too!

• Flour

• Paint Brushes

How to make it

1. Paint your pumpkins with one coat of your chosen color and let dry.

2. Mix a little flour into some paint for your next layer. The more flour you add the more texture your pumpkin will have.

3. Paint your pumpkin with your textured paint and let completely dry.

4. Show off that gorgeous décor that looks like a million bucks!

I also used the same technique with a light up jack-o-lantern pumpkin from the clearance section at Target! The textured white compliments my fall porch styling more than the orange, and if I ever want to change the color, it would be as simple as applying a coat of paint!
