Powder Room Hardware and Fixtures

An easy way to change the feel of a room is to swap out the metallic fixtures and hardware. For our powder room makeover, we're going for a warmer vintage vibe so I chose aged brass as our metallic accent. Pro Tip: Mix your metals! This lends a higher end look to a space and saves the the hassle of trying to match everything! In our last powder room design, we used both flat black and brushed nickel accents for a more modern farmhouse vibe. For this new look, I wanted as much warm brass as possible to help reflect the light in this small and now darker space!

I spray painted the original toilet paper hook an aged brass color, but it ended up looking very fake compared to when I use my tried and true gold spray paint. I also didn't love the shape of the hardware after selecting so many other beautiful vintage pieces, so I decided this was one of those times it was okay to splurge instead of use what we already had! I found this stunning holder from Pottery Barn, which wasn't cheap, but WAS on sale! I love the industrial masculine lines and how that plays with the femininity of the room.

I also picked up a vintage looking brass towel hook that was much better suited for this space. Tiny details like this and really make a room extra special!

We swapped out the old "boob light" exhaust fan and replace it with a much sleeker style that blends in with the ceiling. Because the led light is so bright, we decided to remove the wall sconce all together to allow the antique wooden mirror to have her own moment on the wall.

Lastly, because we chose to keep our relatively new vanity and sink, I wanted to add some warm vintage fixtures to help balance the gray with the deep plum walls. I found this stunning faucet set for only $60 and it is definitely one of the main pieces that ties the whole room together! New art deco brass drawer pulls complete the look. Everything feels so warm and luxe!
