Make Over Your Home For Free
I bet that title caught your eye!!! I'm not talking about winning a giveaway or dumpster diving, (although that can lead to pretty awesome treasures)! I'm talking about shopping your own home!
If you're not familiar with the term, shopping your home means walking through your house and grabbing different pieces of décor and furniture that might look great in another space! Throw pillows from your living room sofa might look gorgeous on your bed. That mirror in the hallway may look fabulous above the mantle! One time when we were feeling adventurous we swapped the basement and family room sofas! Everything is fair game!
Anytime I feel myself getting a little tired of my décor I walk around my home and see what inspires me. This past weekend, I was itching to give our family room a little refresh so I took everything off of the built in shelves and after giving it all a good cleaning, I walked from room to room looking for décor that would look great on those shelves!
I also decided to swap out the large round mirror over our sofa for the vintage wood framed one I scored on Facebook Marketplace a few months ago. The change from modern silver to warm vintage wood immediately changed the vibe of the space! For FREE!
