Ginger Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

I found this recipe in a Real Simple magazine the Christmas Tim and I were engaged. We have made them every Christmas since then, and the holidays are not complete without a batch of these soft, chewy, bad boys! You and download the recipe at the bottom of the page!

These are not your typical cookie bars or blondies. The addition of ginger, cinnamon, and clove adds warmth while the chocolate makes them purely decadent. They go really great with a hot cup of coffee or cocoa. Once you make these, you will probably not be able to stop eating them!

I found these adorable matching aprons at Target this week as part of their Wondershop collection for Christmas. Jackson LOVES to help me in the kitchen, so I couldn't resist a mommy and me look! Any opportunity to create a special memory with my sweet boy is one that I grab onto! And we look pretty great, right?! What a special way to invite your kids into the kitchen with you this holiday season and show off a little style. You can find the aprons here.

Now back to the cookies! I only make these once a year for Christmas, so as soon as the smell of warm ginger hits the air, my husband knows I'm in Christmas baking mode! You can download the full recipe at the bottom of the page.
