DIY Crystal Ball

I love walking around the Dollar Tree and trying to find things that I can turn into beautiful décor - especially at the holidays! I found these cool skeleton hands there and thought they would look creepy chic with a crystal ball for Halloween!

While I found all of my main materials at The Dollar Tree, you could look for these things at thrift stores as well!

what you need

  • 2 skeleton hands

  • small glass plate

  • large clear ornament

  • colored lights - you can also use these battery dew drop lights for $5

how to make it

Apply hot glue to the base of both hands and attach them to your glass plate at a slight angle (a wide V shape) NOTE: make sure your hands are close enough together that the ball will rest on them without touching the plate.

I painted mine first and had to paint over the glue, so just wait to paint until everything is glued together!

Once the glue is dry, spray paint the entire thing black or whatever color you'd like!

While the paint dries, remove the hanger cap from the ornament and insert your lights. NOTE: some plug in lights have a plug on either end and will not fit inside your ornament so just check before you buy.

place your ball between the hands with opening facing downward. I left my ball unattached so that I could switch out the lights easily if needed

My crystal ball makes the coolest night light for our kitchen over this season! Where would you put one in your home?
