Christmas Wreath Treats

Do you have a recipe that instantly elicits nostalgia whenever you make it? That's what these wreath treats are to me. I am a December baby, and these were always my birthday treat for school. My classmates always counted on my mom to come through and make these for my birthday.

They are festive, adorable, and a great treat for kids to help make! In honor of my birthday next week, I'm sharing the recipe with you! You can download the full recipe at the bottom of the page.

1. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

2. Melt the butter and marshmallows in a microwave safe bowl or in a large pot over medium-low heat.

3. Add in the food coloring and mix until the color is uniform. Adjust the amount of coloring based on the desired shade of green.

4. Mix in the cornflakes until completely combined.

5. My mom and I have different methods for shaping our wreaths. I’ll let you decide which way you’d like to use!*

Option #1

As soon as the mixture is combined (and still hot), use a greased spoon to scoop out egg-sized balls onto prepared baking sheets. Let the mixture cool slightly. Dip your index finger in water and push into the middle of the mixture scoop, creating a hole. Push outward until it resembles a wreath. Top with red mini M&M’s in your desired pattern.

Option #2

Let the mixture cool slightly before handling it. Take an egg-sized amount of mixture in your hands and roll into a “snake” shape. Connect the 2 ends to make a circle. Top with red mini M&M’s in your desired pattern.
