This month, I started a new weekly segment on Instagram called, CENTERPIECE SATURDAY. Every Saturday, you guessed it, I share a new centerpiece on my dining table created from affordable, foraged and thrifted finds. At the end of each month, I'll share a round up here at The Rural Legend and go into a little more detail about how I did it and how to create the look. Are you ready for some inspiration?
Patriotic

Our neighbors allowed me to cut the absolutely stunning blue hydrangeas out of their garden and they they inspired this red white and blue centerpiece just in time for Independence day!

I cut some red sweet shrub from my own garden and arranged it with wild white yarrow. Pro Tip: Any vessel can become a vase if you slide a water glass inside to protect it! This antique coffee can came from my grandparents and the bottom would easily rust away with water. But it makes the cutest vase, right?! To finish of this centerpiece, I added my ZZ plant on a white marble trivet for height and dimension. Any plant would work, but I loved the white fluted pot in this arrangement.

Edible arrangement

I use these sterling silver mini vases all year round for both fresh and dried florals. I simply cut herbs from the garden including lemon thyme, rosemary, mint, and lemon balm. Their little flowers are the sweetest and the room smelled SO good! I again, used my marble trivet for height and added a thrifted flower shaped bowl filled with some more herbs. With a few classic pieces and some garden clippings, you can swap out this arrangement as often as you'd like for free!

Lemonade

At your next party, why not use your beverage station as a centerpiece?! I love when food can double as décor! I filled a large glass canister with Russian Sage for height. Lavender would be perfect as well, but mine was not in bloom at the time. I placed my woven rattan glasses on a thrifted silver tray and filled a white bowl with fresh lemons.

The arrangement was rounded out with a big pitcher of lemonade and a vase filled with mint. You could add vases with all types of herbs that would pair nicely with your lemonade for a customizable drink station! Some add ins include basil, mint, lavender, and strawberries.

milk glass

I inherited a lot of milk glass from both grandmothers and I love pairing them all together for an all white look. I couldn't resist adding some of my first zinnia blooms of the season and adding in this mint green cake stand for height. Add small votive candle adds a little glow for a sweet and simple statement.

Foraged

I found this oblong woven basket at a local décor shop and had to have it! I cut branches from larger plants in my garden - Japanese willow, abelia, and sweet shrub. I simply laid the branches/stems lengthwise in the basket, allowing them to drape over the edges until I can a full look. You can find a video of how I did it here. There was no water for these clippings, so this centerpiece would need to be prepared just before entertaining and will look good for about 48 hours.

I am absolutely loving the challenge of creating a new and simple centerpiece every week and the best part is that I'm able to use pieces I already own over and over again in new ways! Stay tuned for next month's round up!
