3 Even Easier Ways to Upgrade Your Kitchen On a Budget

Updated: Apr 3, 2023

find links to all of my kitchen décor at the bottom of the post!

Did you catch my first 3 tips earlier this week? I have been slowly making small changes to our builder grade kitchen that are making a HUGE impact! While my first 3 tricks require a little bit of labor (ie, a screwdriver), the 3 ideas below couldn't be simpler and can have an equally big impact!

Add a Rug

We have always had a runner in our kitchen, but we definitely were due for an upgrade and I wanted to find a vintage inspired rug with warm tones that compliments our new gorgeous brass hardware. I looked at 3 different runners for this space and asked my followers on Instagram to help me choose! I love how the pink tones pull out the blush in our dining room rug. They compliment each other beautifully! I also chose a longer size this time so that it runs almost the full length of the cabinetry. It helps to give the illusion of a wider space. You can shop my favorite runners for the kitchen (under $75!!) here!

Add Plants

Oh, the magic of plants! <swoon> They just instantly elevate the look of a space and give your home a little soul. I decided to hang a plant in the window over the sink and it made the space feel bigger and adds a pop of color that I adore!

This gorgeous leather plant hanger is so unique and well made! The color darkens with age and exposure to sun. I also found this beautiful planter that looks like a caned basket but is actually ceramic!

I also added a Philodendron to my counter and placed the grow pot in an old crock! The warm gray tone adds a little rustic charm to the space!

Add a lamp

Lighting can make or break a space and also provides a lot of benefits for both your home and health! It might seem a little odd to have a lamp in your kitchen, but I promise, it will look so good! I found this adorable small brass lamp at Goodwill for $5 and the touch of sparkle and glow in the evenings is a whole vibe! By illuminating a dark corner of the kitchen the lamp actually makes the kitchen appear larger! Added bonus points or coordinating with our new kitchen hardware!
